WRPPA PLD GRANT
Individuals or groups of principals whose schools are members of the Wellington Regional Primary Principals’ Association, are invited to apply for the WRPPA PLD Grant. This could include individual principals, local principal clusters, PLGs, Beginning Principal groups.
There is a maximum of $5,000 available. In exceptional circumstances the selection panel may decide to award the grant to more than one recipient, sharing the grant.
The criteria in deciding the successful application(s) will be based on the merits of a chosen professional development initiative that has the potential to benefit the work of other WRPPA members. Successful grant applications will:
Support the professional development and growth of principals
Have potential benefit to the work of other WRPPA members
Other notes:
The WRPPA Exec (or a quorum of) will select successful applicants
Any WRPPA Exec member applying will be removed from the selection panel
Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received the WRPPA PLD Grant
Priority will be given where all principals participating in the PLD initiative are current financial members at the time the application is made
Where there are more applications than grants available, the WRPPA Exec will use the above criteria and also prioritise the allocation based on the following considerations:
Innovation of the project (different from others)
Level of benefit to the wider WRPPA group
Allocation of previous grants
Whether or not the principals have access to funds from elsewhere
Successful applicants will be required to briefly report back about their grant use at a WRPPA meeting.
